A Review of Paws and Tales: God Cares for You

Ever wonder what those furry forest animals do when us humans aren't looking. Well, pop some popcorn, and put it Paws and Tales: God Cares for You.  And that is just what we did (my 3 year-old and I). I must say, I have never heard of or seen Paws and Tales, so I came to the table, or couch rather, with no expectations. At first glance I must say the animation is a bit distracting, in that the characters do not move very life-like, it is quite robotic. But, I said who cares and continued to watch with an open mind. The dvd has two main episodes and then songs in between. The songs were nice and catchy, but I felt like I needed to watch the dvd again. As I watched a 2nd time I realized the story was a bit choppy and seemed to just throw God in instead of the principles being weaved seamlessly through it. But at the end of the day what really matters is my child's reaction and receptivity to it. My 3 year old seemed to enjoy the fact that there was something new to watch, but soon the novelty wore off and he never requested the dvd again. He is only 3, so the fact that he did not seem to glean much from the video may be due to age. I  honestly would not recommend the dvd. It is not bad but it is not good.
